What is the Creative space?
The Creative Space is a beautiful atmospheric cosy room to hire, located in Dedham Art & Crafts Centre. The Arts & Crafts Centre has been a revered destination for Arts & Crafts lovers for many years, holding a vast collection of bespoke and unique pieces made from craftspeople & artists.
The space is a perfect location for you to hold your own Art & Crafts Workshops, Presentations, Demonstrations or the space can be used as atmospheric back drop for your Product Photography & Video Making.
Where is the Dedham?
Dedham is an idyllic English village surrounded by beautiful landscape, and the water meadows of the River Stour, which passes along the northern boundary of the village forming the boundary between Essex and Suffolk. Known as Constable Country the Dedham Vale is an area of natural beauty which has inspired great English painters through the ages.
The only designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Essex, the Dedham Vale contains numerous scenes which inspired famous English artists including 19th Century landscape painter John Constable, 18th century artist Thomas Gainsborough and 20th Century equestrian artist Sir Alfred Munnings. Dedham is one of the most attractive villages in Essex, and the association with John Constable is particularly close. The historic church of St Mary the Virgin dominates the High Street and features in several of Constable's paintings.
What are the hire costs?
The Creative Space is available for hire on a daily rate, half day rate and hourly rate.
Full day space access from 9:45am – 5pm: £65
Half day space access 9:45am – 12pm or 12.30pm – 5pm: £40
Hourly rate: £12
What is the capacity of the room?
The space will comfortably hold 6 – 8 attendees, around two 6ft x 3 ft tables with the space for you to walk around and assist in the craftmaking.
Without the tables and chairs, with the plain white walls, the room would make a perfect back drop for information videos, ‘how to’ demonstrations, with a 3m x 3m floor footprint.
What is the access like to The Creative Space?
The Creative Space is accessed up a few steps the craft centre front door or it has street level access via a back door, with small outside space.
What days can I hire the room?
The space is available 7 days a week with access between 9am & 5pm. The Arts Centre closes at 5pm, you would need to organise your event so that you left time to tidy up and pack away before the centre closes.
Is there parking?
There is 2 hour parking outside the Arts Centre to allow you to load & unload, full day parking is at a public car park – 5 minutes walk from the Centre. Please CLICK HERE for details
Are there any eateries or places to stay near?
Dedham hosts a wide variety of eateries, there is a beautiful Tearoom in the Arts & Crafts Centre which serves a extensive menu. There are a couple of pubs in the Village: The Sun Inn & The Marlborough which have accommodation and lovely food and The Essex Rose Tea Room if you would like to sample some of the famous Tiptree Jam produce.
Will you advertise my event?
Dedham Arts & Crafts Centre has a huge following on Social media and will advertise your event, you are welcome to leave flyers and other advertising material in the Art Centre, however it will be your responsibility to fill the spaces of your own event.
What is your cancellation policy?
Once your application to Hire and event has been agreed and confirmed you will be asked for a non-refundable £30 deposit to secure your event, we require 48 hour notice if you are cancelling your event.
What will I need to hire the space?
To hire the space your event content will need to be agreed and you would need to submit your business insurance policies & Public Liability insurance certification of up to 2 million.
